How to get better in paintball

The best way to get better at playing paintball is to simply play as much as possible. That being said there are a few other things you can do outside of playing to help improve your paintball game and we’ll go over them here.

Before spending too much money on your first paintball gun or spending money on making upgrades to your existing gun, if you really want to improve your paintball game you should be spending all your spare paintball money on playing paintball and not on buying more stuff. Remember the only gear and equipment you need to pay paintball are a paintball gun, some co2, paintballs and something, like a paintball mask, to protect your eyes, face and ears. But the most important thing to realize here is that the only way to get better at playing paintball is to play more!

A faster paintball gun isn’t going to make you a better player but playing more and more paintball will help you get much needed experience. More experience in paintball will lead you to discover which paintball guns are most effective for you and flat out which ones work well and which ones suck. Playing more paintball will also help you discover which tactics and strategies work best on the paintball field. Unfortunately as many noobs have discovered what you think will work on the paintball field isn’t necessarily true.

On the paintball field you want to stay mobile and always be moving so you don’t provide your opponents with a stationary target. I see way too many noobs looking for a place to hide and fire away from… All your doing is making yourself an easy target! Remember a moving target is harder to hit!

As far as equipment goes remember just buy or rent what you need. Personally I think a good paintball mask with some good thermal lenses is very important and can actually help improve your game. Some paintball games actually go on for quite some time so you want to make sure you have a comfortable paintball mask that you won’t be itching to tear off after a few minutes.

Paintball gun accuracy isn’t about the paintball gun itself it’s about how your paintballs and how they fit into your paintball gun barrel. If your paintball gun isn’t firing very accurately you should check to make sure that you have the right size paintballs for your barrell. Too many noobs buy a longer barrel thinking it will make their paintball gun fire more accurately and that can be a waste of money of you don’t check your paintballs first…

Like I said before if you want to be a better paintballer then the most important thing for you to do is just play more paintball. The only piece of gear that might make you a better player, less fearful would be more accurate though, is a good paintball mask. Your paintball gun won’t make or break you until you become a more established paintballer so don’t worry about upgrading until you know a lot more about paintball guns and how they work. The biggest challenge noobs face when playing paintball is firing accurately while moving and that’s something you can easily practice by setting up some targets in your back yard. Good luck out there, practice and play often and you’ll be a better paintballer in no time!
